August 29, 2022
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your children are enjoying these final days of summer! At Glenwood Landing School, we have had a productive summer. Our building has been cleaned, construction has taken place, and teachers and support staff are preparing materials and creating warm, inviting classrooms for your children.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child back to school next week. I long for the chatter in the hallways, the laughter on the playground, the collaboration in the classroom, and the hustle and bustle during arrival and dismissal. I am dedicated to providing the children with a memorable, interactive, engaging learning experience for 2022-2023.
Students return to school on Thursday, September 1st. Both September 1st and 2nd will be half days for the elementary students. We will dismiss three hours earlier at 11:40 AM on these two half days. Please be sure to review the Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for details.
The cafeteria will begin serving lunch on Monday, September 5th, for students in grades 1-5. Kindergarteners can begin purchasing lunch on Monday, September 19th. Please send your Kindergartener with a bagged lunch until that date. All information about food services can be found here.
Please complete and hand in the Annual Dismissal Form, Student Information Card, and Health Emergency Card on the first day of school. Changes to the normal dismissal schedule should be noted using a “Change in Dismissal” form; we have included one in this mailing for your convenience. Changes to routine can be made by phone only for emergencies; emails are not accepted.
Transportation will be provided for eligible students starting September 1st. Information about bus routes will be mailed to your home from the Transportation Department. If you have any questions, please call the Transportation Department at 277-7930.
An identification card has been enclosed for Kindergarten students. Please pin this card onto your child’s backpack each day for the first two weeks of school so we can escort your child to the appropriate classroom.
I look forward to seeing you on September 1st.
Sincerely,
Bridget Finder
Principal
