Parent-Teacher Conferences

Subject: Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
Dear Elementary School Families,
I am very pleased to announce that the Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for March 10 and 11 in all three of our Elementary Schools will be live. We look forward to welcoming parents back into our buildings, a long-anticipated occurrence.
As I offer this welcome, we are all now aware that the wearing of masks has been made optional in our schools. You can choose to wear a mask or not, with the expectation that everyone’s preference will be honored. You might also find windows open in your child’s classroom, depending upon the teacher’s preference. Physical contact in the form of handshakes will also be discouraged and we hope everyone can accept that modification.
The classroom might appear a little different than what you have seen in the past, as we are still practicing social distancing. Teachers might have some special set up for this conference and therefore classroom furniture might be moved around a bit to create an appropriate space for this important conversation.
In the event that you are not available to attend during these scheduled times, we will continue the practice that we have utilized in the last several years and schedule a phone call during the time that your conference was scheduled. Please just let your child’s teacher know that you would prefer a phone conversation and that will be scheduled. These days and times have been reserved for just that purpose and we ask that you schedule that phone call only for March 10 or 11.
The constants you will experience at these meetings will be the useful and informative conversations regarding your child’s progress, and the helpful and enthusiastic interaction with our staff that you have come to expect. We are delighted to welcome you all back into our schools, and I hope to see some of you there as I wander the hallways of our buildings.
Sincerely yours,
Tom Dolan
Interim Superintendent, North Shore Schools
