Holiday Wishes
Dear North Shore Parents, Faculty, and Community Members,
Each year, I think through what my holiday message will be to the community that I hold so dear. This time of year is always filled with joy, family, fond memories and cheer. It is a time for reflection as well as looking forward as we begin a New Year. It goes without saying that 2020 was one where we have been tested in unprecedented ways, but also one of even greater resilience among us. I am grateful and proud of how our learning community of students, administrators, faculty, nurses, and support staff have all met these challenges in the most heroic ways. I am also thankful for the support of this amazing community. For the past year, I have been noting how kites fly highest against the wind, not with it, and it is true. We have proven it time and time again and it is truly awesome in the truest sense of the word.
On behalf of the Board of Education, and as we break for the holidays tomorrow, I extend my most heartfelt wishes for a peaceful and joyous time. Whether you celebrate the holidays or not, this is a time to rest, recalibrate, and rejoice. I hope that you are all able to find space for good times, great books, and amazing food with family, friends, and loved ones.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold our traditional winter concerts. A long-standing North Shore tradition is the performance of the Hallelujah Chorus from The Messiah, composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741. It is always a moving performance and our alumni are always welcomed to join in the performance. This year, under the direction of Mrs. Ashleigh Hahn, the North Shore High School Concert Chorale performed this piece virtually. It is a moving performance and a true testament to the innovative talent of our students and Fine and Performing Arts Department. I am proud to share it with you and hope that it makes you smile.

Have a happy and healthy holiday and best wishes for a New Year filled with hope, wellness, and all good things! I will look forward to seeing everyone again when we return on Monday, January 4, 2021.
As always, we remain #VikingStrong!
Regards,
Dr. Peter Giarrizzo
