COVID Case Update
Dear North Shore Parents, Faculty and Community Members,
I hope that you are all well and enjoying the change in weather. As we head into cooler weather, I wanted to update you on few important items.
We have been advised that our HEPA filters will be shipped to the District in the upcoming days. They will be installed in classrooms immediately. Thank you the Viking Foundation and our community for your generosity in making this happen.
We are working on ensuring that classrooms are ventilated. Unfortunately, we are still waiting on the delivery of Merv-13 filters. As you can likely imagine, the supply chain on these items is very complicated and the lead time on the delivery has been excruciatingly long. Once they arrive, we will do the necessary work to our classroom ventilation systems and make the necessary upgrades.
Thank you to our teachers and principals for all that they are doing to engage in outdoor learning, when possible. Please remember to have your children come to school with warm clothing so that we may maximize our time outside.
Unfortunately, we were advised of two new cases of Covid today in the District. One student at North Shore Middle School and a staff member at North Shore High School are home recovering. We have spoken with all of the close contacts and those who need to quarantine have been appropriately advised.
Please continue to be diligent- wear your face covering, maintain social distance, wash your hands often, and avoid gatherings.
I appreciate the work that everyone is doing and am especially grateful to our entire faculty and staff. They are focused on making sure that teaching and learning is robust, safe, fun, and purposeful. I work with amazing people here in North Shore and am proud to call them my colleagues. On behalf of them all, I thank you the opportunity to engage with the children we share each day.
Have a lovely evening.
Dr. Peter Giarrizzo
