North Shore's Week Ahead
Dear North Shore Parents, Faculty and Community Members,
I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful day and are able to get outside to enjoy it. Though cool, the air is crisp, clean and so refreshing.
I am pleased share that North Shore High School will resume in-person instruction tomorrow, Monday, December 7, 2020. I am also pleased to share that we have not received any reports of additional positive covid-19 cases over the weekend. This is good news and we must now all do our part to keep it this way.
The recent rise in cases with our community is alarming and we are trending towards the dangerous numbers we saw in March and April. If we are not careful and thoughtful, it will not be long before we are once again overwhelmed by cases. Honestly, if the number of cases does not begin to decrease, I am going to have a very challenging time keeping our schools appropriately staffed and managing the instructional needs of so many students who may be in quarantine. We owe it to our healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, and our students to do what needs to be done to bring these numbers down. While a vaccine is certainly within our sights, now is the time to dig deep and do what we all know works to curb the spread of the virus:
- Wear a face covering at all times when around others.
- Maintain six-feet of social distancing.
- Wash your hands with increased frequency.
- Avoid gatherings with people outside of your immediate family.
Rapid Testing will be offered once again to any member of the community who wishes to make an appointment at the following link. Most insurances are accepted and access is offered as a courtesy to our faculty and community to those who wish to access it.

We can, we should and we simply must do this for ourselves, our students, and each other as one united community. Be #VikingStrong, stay well, and make healthy choices rooted in discretion. I thank you on behalf of the children we share. They are definitely watching, so let's show them how it's done!
All the best,
Dr. Peter Giarrizzo
