To The United States Military Academy at West Point
North Shore’s Christian Choi has been accepted to The United States Military Academy at West Point. For every 100 applicants to West Point, only 12 are admitted. Candidates must excel academically, demonstrate strong leadership, pass a physical fitness test, and secure a Congressional nomination. In addition, he is also the recipient of the 4-year ROTC scholarship. These are highly competitive scholarships, requiring a strong, "whole-person" portfolio of top academics, athletic fitness, and leadership experience.
Superintendent Dr. Chris Zublionis stated, “"Admission to the United States Military Academy at West Point is a tremendous honor. Applicants are required to demonstrate leadership skills, academic prowess, and secure a nomination from a member of the United States Congress. Christian's admission to West Point and his willingness to courageously serve his country is a tremendous source of pride for the entire North Shore community."

“Christian’s admission to West Point is a proud moment for all of us,” said Principal Eric Contreras. “Admission to the Academy screens with the academic rigor of the most selective colleges, with additional character expectations and formidable fitness demands. It is a trinity of talents that a very small and select group of young American prove each year. We are honored and salute Christian on his accomplishment and his future service to our country. I commend Christian and his family for this wonderful achievement, and Ms. Fawcett for her unwavering and dedicated support of our students in all their journeys and endeavors beyond North Shore.”
North Shore High School Counselor, Joanne Fawcett concluded by saying, “It goes without saying how proud I am of Christian — he's a hardworking student who has natural leadership abilities and has an incredible understanding of the world.”
Best of luck to Christian! Go Vikings Go!
