Glenwood Landing Kindergarteners Set Sail
On Thursday, September 4, 2025, kindergarten students in Ms. Kelly Bierwiler’s class eagerly boarded their Viking ship to officially begin their North Shore Journey. They were joined by Principal Bridget Finder, Superintendent Dr. Chris
Zublionis, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Dr. CarolAnn Smyth, and Assistant Superintendent for Business, Mr. James Pappas, as they embarked on their new educational adventure.
To begin, the students sang the “ABC” song to practice the alphabet! Next, one of the students found hidden treasure and shared it with Ms. Bierwiler who opened the package up to the delight of her students. Inside were “Mother Goose” books to symbolize the first stop on their exciting NS Journey - the Nursery Rhyme unit of study.
But that’s not all! Ms. Bierwiler played different instruments to help her students listen to sounds and reinforce counting! It was a very exciting morning at Glenwood Landing for the students and adults who were lucky to participate in this original hands-on interdisciplinary lesson.
Thank you to Ms. Bierwiler and the GWL kindergarteners! We can’t wait to see what other educational adventures you take on your North Shore Journey this school year!
Go Vikings Go!
