Congratulations to Ms. Ana Aguiar-Mady who was the recipient of the 2025 NYS TESOL Administrator of the Year Award. This award recognizes P-12 administrators who demonstrate outstanding leadership in advancing the academic success and social-emotional well-being of English Language Learners (ELLs). It is presented to individuals whose contributions meaningfully strengthen programs, services, and opportunities for multilingual learners at the school and district level.
As the Director of World Languages and ENL, her work is grounded in a deep commitment to ensuring that English Language Learners (ELLs) receive the rigorous, inclusive, and culturally affirming education they need to thrive. She leads with a focus on strengthening family partnerships, expanding equitable access to high quality instruction, and celebrating the linguistic and cultural assets that multilingual learners bring to the community. She attributes this recognition to the incredible educators she works alongside each day, emphasizing that the success of multilingual learners is a collective effort built on teamwork, shared purpose and unwavering dedication to students.
