GWL 4th Grader Wins Nassau County Essay Writing Contest
Congratulations to Glenwood Landing fourth grader, Madline Mooney, who won this Nassau County Humane Society Essay Writing Contest which was optional for any student in grades 3-5!
Writing Contest Guidelines To celebrate Earth Day and Be Kind to Animals Month, students were invited to enter a writing contest to help animals who are abused or neglected. Topic: Pretend you are a superhero and could do anything to help animals. What would you do to help? Consider your superpowers! Be creative and have fun! Don't forget to edit! From: This contest was created by the Humane Society of New York, Nassau County SPCA, North Shore Animal League of American and the Nassau County Executive Office. Word Count: The essay should be approximately 300 words or approximately 2-4 paragraphs. How to Enter: Submit your essay to Mrs. Marcantonio who will email it to the contest coordinators. The due date is a strict deadline, April 23!
Winners: Two winning essays from each grade will be chosen grades 3-5. A ceremony for contest winners will be held at the County executive's Office
