Three North Shore HS Students Selected to Participate in DECA State Championship

“North Shore students exceled in business once again with our first year’s participation in DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America),” said North Shore Business Education Teacher, Ms. Lauren Sandback. DECA is a global student organization with a mission to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the world.

In December 2024, North Shore had a total of 17 students compete in the Regional Conference at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School. Three North Shore students were selected to move onto the State Championship in Rochester, NY.

Congratulations to the following North Shore business students who will go on to compete in The New York DECA State Career Development Conference: Raymond Lin (Finance Category), Maria Michael (Finance Category), and Polena Semenko (Entrepreneurial Category). The New York DECA State Career Development Conference will be held March 5-7, 2025, at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, N.Y.
