North Shore 6th Graders Innovate by building Makey Makey Instruments with Scratch
MS Technology Education teacher, Mr. Keith Slack said, “My 6th grade class called Renewable Revolutions was challenged to design, code, and build a musical instrument. Using a platform called Makey Makey, students designed and built unique musical instruments from recycled materials. They then brought these instruments to life using Scratch, a block-based coding platform, to play specific notes and sounds.”
He added, “The students showcased their musical creations in a concert form in the classroom. This project helped my students with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The activWORLD LANGUAGE HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY 2024

104 NS High School Students Inducted into World Language Honor Society
Congratulations go out to the 104 North Shore High School students who were inducted into the World Language Honor Society on May 23, 2024. The World Language Honor Society inducted members span from the six world language programs: ASL, French, Italian, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish. These students are commended for their achievement in their World Language classes during their time at North Shore and their continued dedication to achieving greater language proficiency as they enter their senior year in the fall. Congratulations to all new inductees!
Club Presidents of the World Language Honor Society greeted the proud parents and family members in the audience and led the ceremony at North Shore High School. Thank you to the officers who led the pledges and read the inductee names for each language category.
