Congratulations Vikings Lacrosse Points Leader
Congratulations to Matthew D’Aversa, a senior at North Shore High School, who was recently named the all-time time points leader for the North Shore Boy's Lacrosse Team for the 2023-24 season.
During 2022-24, Matt tallied 138 goals, 81 assists, and 219 points. The Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse team was ranked #9 pre-season, finished #6 in the league this year with a record of 9-3 in their conference. The Vikings had an overall record of 10-6 and a first-round playoff loss to #3 Island Trees.
Coach John Savage said, “Matt has worked very hard over the years to become a very good player. Breaking the record was a great accomplishment for him and all the players he played with - which led to his success. The team showed a great deal of growth as the season progressed to the playoffs by following Matt’s leadership.”
In November 2023, Matt along with 10 other high school seniors signed National Letters of Intent (NLI). A Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an institution. Matt also played Varsity football and basketball for North Shore High School.
We wish Matthew D’Aversa continued success both on and off the field as he heads to St. John’s University to play lacrosse. Go Vikings Go!
