HS Field Trip to Eataly Flatiron District
Italian Classes Make their Own Pasta
Prof Piacentino's upper-level Italian classes went on a fieldtrip to Eataly Flatiron where Chef Leonardo Palazzo (an Italian Immigrant from Puglia) transported them to Italy for the day!
North Shore High School Principal, Eric Contreras said, “It is wonderful to see our world language programs create authentic learning experiences bridge language with culture, art, food and real world connections.”
After an antipasto course of mozzarella, prosciutto and focaccia, everyone made their own batch of fresh cavatelli to take home. Next on the menu was a delicious pasta dish Chef Leo made for lunch.
The experience finished with a tour of the Eataly market and samples of freshly made mozzarella, espresso and gelato! Grazie Chef Leo per un'esperienza meravigliosa!
