NS Board Along with Administration Recognizes Tenured Teachers and Says Farewell to Those Retiring
The North Shore High School theatre was filled with family, friends and colleagues as the Board of Education, administration, and principals recognized teachers, administrators, and staff for tenure and retirement at the June 13, 2024, meeting.
Congratulations go out to the following tenured teachers and administrators including Brandon Bromsey (HS Music), Wendy Bruno (SC Special Education), Kayleigh Escamilla (MS Special Education), Nicole Giametta (HS/MS Speech-Language), Jenny Maldonado (HS/MS World Language Spanish), Kerri McDonagh (GWL Teacher), Danielle Oppido (HS Special Education), Ariel O’Shea (Special Education), Veronica Otero (HS/MS Computer Science), Sarah Rennie (GH Art Teacher), Emily Totero (SC Elementary), Maria Varrichio (MS Teaching Assistant).
On behalf of the Board of Education the following employees were recognized and thanked for their many years of service to our students and North Shore families. Best of luck in your future retirement including Marla Behar (Special Education Teacher, 39 years), Lisa Cangemi (Teacher Aide, 16 years), Robert Considine (Custodian, 17 years), Patricia Dubois (Food Service, 33 years), Tom Fierro (Math Teacher, 28 years), Laura Green (Technology Teacher, 23 years), Christine Halloran (Math Teacher/Sr Internship Coordinator, 30 years), Mojdeh Hassani (Special Education Teacher, 24 years), Tracy Iacovelli (Physical Education Teacher, 28 years), Elyse Kushel (Librarian, 21 years), Maureen Lamberti (Classroom Teacher, 21 years), Jodie Larson (Music Teacher, 22 years), Eric LePetit (French Teacher, 25 years), Dennis McEvoy (English Teacher, 19 years), Jeanne Marie O’Donnell (Teacher Aide, 21 years), and Darlene Skaee (Classroom Teacher, 20 years). Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Christopher Zublionis’ contract was extended for five more years, and Mr. Thomas Sheehan was appointed the next Glen Head School Principal.
