NS Women’s Cross Country Team Wins Historic 200th Consecutive Meet
The Longest Winning Streak in LI Women’s Cross Country History
Congratulations to the North Shore Women's Cross Country Team who won its historic 200th consecutive meet last night. The team hasn't lost since October 15, 2007, against Valley Stream South. This 200th consecutive milestone occurred at Eisenhower Park last night as the Vikings beat Locust Valley and Academy Charter in the Nassau Conference IV League meet.
Coach Neal Levy said, "There's a sense of accomplishment, not necessarily for me but for all of the young ladies, coaches, and parents who have believed in the process over the course of time. A lot of these kids weren't even born in 2007, so for them to look at it, the alumni that come back, the history that's here, is very nice. "
“Coach Levy has built a program that is par excellence nationally,” stated North Shore High School Principal Eric Contreras. Our young women on the team are driven, hardworking, and inspiring athletes. His coaching, mentorship, and long-term vision has paved the way for so many runners to succeed in high school and beyond. Under his leadership, and with the support of our athletic office and district, the team has grown the wings to soar and succeed at a historic level.”
Congratulations to Coach Neal Levy, Assistant Coach, Donna Jean Welch, and all our athletes on the Girl’s Varsity Cross Country team at North Shore High School.
