HS NEW TURF FIELD RIBBON CUTTING
Superintendent Dr. Chris Zublionis Along with the North Shore Board of Education Proudly Cut the Ribbon on New Turf Field!
Thank you, North Shore Community!
During the Vikings Homecoming this past Saturday on October 28, 2023, Superintendent Dr. Chris Zublionis along with the North Shore Board of Education, Assistant Superintendent for Business, James Pappas, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, CarolAnn Smyth, Facility and Operations Manager, John Hall, and Chris Hines from LandTek enthusiastically walked out onto the fifty-yard line and proudly cut the ribbon on the new Vikings turf field in front of a stadium filled with fans!
In May 2023, the North Shore community approved Proposition 2 and 3 which allowed the District to expend existing funds in the 2016 Capital Reserve for the new North Shore High School Stadium Turf Field as it was approaching the end of its natural life. It also allowed for the creation and completion of a new Dance Studio at North Shore High School, the first in the history of North Shore. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dance Studio took place last month.
Our sincerest thanks to the North Shore students, parents, and community members for your continued support of the North Shore Schools and Athletics Program. In addition, our heartfelt gratitude to the North Shore Viking Booster Club for their unwavering backing of the Vikings Athletics Program. Our Vikings Varsity teams have also thrived due to the dedication of the Central Office Administration led by Dr. Chris Zublionis, Board of Education, HS Principal Eric Contreras and Assistant Principals, Ms. Jennifer Imperiale and Dr. Kevin Kurrus, Athletics Director, Don Lang, Athletics Secretary, Marge Anderson, and our many coaches, faculty members, parents, and community members.
Today marked another milestone for the District as we continue to watch our Vikings excel and “discover their dreams” on the new turf field summarized Dr. Zublionis. We are grateful for you now and in the future as you continue to follow your North Shore Journey. Go Vikings Go! After the ceremony, members of the Vikings Varsity Cheerleading team presented Dr. Z. with a gift showcasing the new HS Stadium turf field.
Thank you again to everyone at the North Shore Schools and in the community who made this North Shore High School Turf Ribbon Cutting possible. After the ribbon cutting the Vikings Varsity Football team took the field and were victorious in beating Island Trees, 21-12.
Go Viking Go!
