HS MOVING UP CEREMONY
NS High School 2023 Moving Up Ceremony
81st Anniversary, a North Shore Tradition Since 1941
Attended by approximately 777 students, Principal Eric Contreras led the 81st
Moving Up Day Ceremony at North Shore High School on Friday, June 2, 2032, a North Shore tradition since 1941.
To a loud round of applause, Principal Eric Contreras for announced the school Valedictorian, Ava Bartoli, and Salutatorian Ruben Shonik. Congratulations to the students who won awards including the announcement of the six Eagle Scouts including Aidan Attina, Matthew Arboleda, Colin D’Angelis, Joseph Ickowitz, Andrew Krapner and Luke Peterson. The 2023 Class Yearbook was dedicated to teacher Ms. Carolyn Chimeri for her many years of service and devotion to her students. In addition, a highlight of the ceremony is when student Ava Steele along with her peers revealed the senior banner for everyone to see!
Then the juniors performed their musical tribute followed by the senior response. The traditional Weaving Ceremony followed with Aidan Tandy singing as seniors made their way to the front of the gymnasium (dressed in all white) while the juniors (in yellow), sophomores (in blue), and freshman (in green) weaved in and out of the seats and rows to make their way to their new spots! To conclude, the seniors formed the line for the gauntlet for the annual Tapping Ceremony. Deserving senior, Kelly Larkin was selected to continue this tradition and received the Faculty Honor Award.
Congratulations to all of the students and the graduating Class of 2023! Many thanks to all of those who participated, including students and teachers in the four grades including Ms. Green who designed the Moving Up logo, and the North Shore Band under the direction of Mr. Brandon Bromsey. Afterwards, there was a celebration in the courtyard hosted by the HS for everyone to enjoy! Thank you to all of the parents who worked so hard to make this day so memorable.
