HS RED RIBBON CONTEST WINNERS
CASA Red Ribbon Contest Winners at North Shore High School Are…
In January 2023, North Shore-CASA proudly announced the Red Ribbon contest winners in partnership with North Shore High School for Red Ribbon Week. Congratulations go out to the following North Shore High School ninth graders who won for their Red Ribbon Contest submissions as well as to all of the students who entered the contest. The North Shore High School Red Ribbon winners included:
- 1st Place – Erin Lily La Rosa for her No Expiration poem
- 2nd Place – Ryan Potter for his When You Feel Stuck poem
- 3rd Place – Isabel Guerrero for her Sweeping a Red Ocean poem
Students who participated in the Red Ribbon contest were asked to get creative regarding the topic, “Just Say No to Drugs”. Submissions could include essays, poems, music, photography, artwork, or videos! This year, all three of the winners were ninth graders who each created a poem for submission. The submissions were voted on by the CASA Board Members and Sector Partners.
Alison Camardella, North Shore CASA Co-President, stated “Our judges were blown away by the messages conveyed in our students’ work and were touched by their candid handling of the topic. We hope that you will be sure to share in our congratulations of the students.”
Many thanks to Assistant Principal, Ms. Jen Imperiale, Principal, Mr. Eric Contreras, the Counseling Department, and the social workers at North High School for helping to facilitate this contest with the students!
