100th DAY CELEBRATION
SC Celebrates the 100th Day of School
On February 13, 2023, students celebrated the 100th Day of School. This was particularly true in our SC School kindergarten classes with the youngest students.
To the delight of Sea Cliff faculty and students, kindergarteners dressed up to represent the 100-day celebration. For example, students wore colorful paper crowns and decorative paper glasses with a big number 100! Others took part in 100 “Acts of Kindness” to coincide with Valentine’s Day!
Students participated in hands-on activities including math, reading, writing, and physical education that involved numbers including and leading up to 100! In addition, Interim Principal, Ms. Megan McCormack, led a special “100 Day Bootcamp” combining math with movement and physical activities. To start, kindergarteners reached into a bucket to count various items including 10 colored pencils, 10 popsicle sticks, and 10 coins. Then they participated in several exercises in repetitions of 10 including jumping jacks, running in place, and even push-ups until they achieved 100 to represent not only their 100 days of school, but to also kick-off Healthy Heart week!
These are just a few examples of the learning, fun, and physical activities that our students participated in on the 100th day of school. Please ask them what they did to celebrate our 100th day!
Happy 100th day North Shore!
