NS SENIOR ADVANCES TO CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH OF SECTION 8 TENNIS SINGLES
First Player in 30 years to Represent North Shore in the Singles State Championship!
Kailin Gochna, a senior at North Shore High School, advanced to the Championship match of the Section 8 Tennis singles championship on Sunday, October 21st. She beat Angel Walia in the semifinals, but lost in the finals to top seed, Nina Weise, from Garden City.
With her Nassau County runner-up showing, Kailin earned a position on Section 8’s State team. Beginning this Thursday, 10/26, she will be representing the North Shore Vikings at the Championship State Tournament of Section 8 in Schenectady, NY.
Coach Brian Kline said, “While North Shore has had multiple doubles tandems earn trips to the state tourney, Kailin is the first player in 30 years to represent North Shore in the Singles State Championship! Congratulations, Kailin and good luck!”
