Remunda Cadoux Award for Leadership
MS. ANA AGUIAR-MADY RECEIVES THE REMUNDA CADOUX AWARD! CONGRATULATIONS!
The North Shore School District is proud to announce that Ana Aguiar-Mady, Director of World Languages & ENL, was recently selected by the New York State Association for Language Teachers to receive the Remunda Cadoux Award for Leadership in World Language Supervision.
Dr. Carol Ann Smyth, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction said, “Congratulations to Ana for this impressive recognition of her amazing leadership and to her entire department for the wonderful program they have developed to engage the students of North Shore in the meaningful and authentic learning of languages.”
The prestigious supervision award was named after Remunda Cadoux, chairperson of the foreign language department at Christopher Columbus High School in New York City and a former member of the NYSAFLT Board of Directors. She authored one of the first New York State syllabi for foreign language education and was the first woman to pass the Director of Foreign Languages eligibility examination in New York City.
At the 106th New York State Association for Language Teachers Annual Conference last week in Syracuse, Ms. Aguiar-Mady received the award on October 20-21. Congratulations for all your exceptional work and dedication!
