Speakers included Interim Superintendent Dr. Thomas Dolan, Valedictorian Kate Gilliam, Salutatorian Emma Nelson, and North Shore Board of Education President Mr. Dave Ludmar.

Salutatorian: Emma Nelson
Principal Eric Contreras congratulated his seniors and praised them on this wonderful milestone. He said, “Today we celebrate the monumental milestones and cherish the small moments. Both have defined you and both will continue to provide inspiration, strength, and a place in your hearts.” He added, I am honored to serve you and will forever cherish you as a class. Please return to visit and continue to define all your spaces in big and small ways. And don’t be afraid to fly, even if it’s just ‘falling with style,’ as Buzz Lightyear put it, because you can always pick yourself up and dust off and try again.”
During the ceremony each senior was called to the podium to receive their diplomas. In addition, both Interim Superintendent Dr. Dolan and Board of Education President Dave Ludmar spoke to the graduating seniors.
Congratulations Class of 2022! (Names to follow)
At the conclusion of the 2022 Commencement Ceremony, the North Shore Alma Mater was led by Ella Blumenthal and Norimi Truskinovsky. Principal Contreras thanked all of the parents and their families and said to his seniors that “I have seen you grow, learn, make friends, and demonstrate a heroic level of poise and resilience as we navigated the challenges we faced as a country and community. My memory of the class is not defined by the challenges but by the way you rose to the challenge.” He stated that they had fulfilled all of the New York State High School requirements to graduate. To a loud round of applause by all of those in the audience, the graduates joyously tossed their hats in the air! Principal Contreras wished all of his seniors the best of luck in the future! Congratulations to the Class of 2022!
