GLEN HEAD MOVING UP CEREMONY
Glen Head Fifth Graders Move Up!
Congratulations to all of the Glen Head fifth graders who moved up on June 21, 2022, in a ceremony held outside on the Glen Head School field led by Principal Dr. Peter Rufa. The ceremony began with The Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner led by Olivia Zhu and Keith Harvey Jr.
Principal Rufa warmly welcomed the parents, family members, and friends in the audience and congratulated his fifth graders on this memorable day. Then music teacher, Whitney Hackman, led the students in a song titled “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars and later in the ceremony “Have It All” by Jason Mraz.
Principal Rufa praised his students and said that “they can have it all” in the future and that we look forward to watching you achieve many wonder things as they move up to the middle school and high school. He applauded their many accomplishments and said that they could “have it all” but always remember that Glen Head School is your home. Dr. Rufa invited them and their families to come back and visit many times in the future.
Then the moment they were all waiting for arrived as Dr. Rufa called each of his fifth graders to the podium to receive their diplomas. As the graduating class of 2022 was announced, all of their loving parents, families, and teachers in the audience proudly applauded with joy.
Additionally, during the ceremony, Interim Superintendent Dr. Thomas Dolan reminded the fifth graders that while they were now the Glen Head Class of 2022, they were going to be the North Shore Middle School Class of 2025, and the North Shore High School graduating Class of 2029! Assistant Principal Mr. Brendan Nelson welcomed the fifth graders to North Shore Middle School and advised each of them to be “a good person” not only during their middle school years, but their entire life to be successful.
Congratulations and best of luck to the Glen Head Class of 2022! Have a great summer!
