Update Jan 24, 2022
Dear North Shore Parents,
I am pleased to report that we have received an additional shipment of COVID-19 Home Test Kits from the Governor’s office that will be available for pick-up this week.
The distribution will begin on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Kits for your personal use can be picked up at the security desk of each of our school buildings. Our security staff will ask you to show identification and provide the names of each of your children as a district list of all students will be available at each security desk. With the assistance of our principals and our stalwart security staff, the following schedule for pick-up has been developed. You will be able to pick-up one kit for each of your children at any of these locations below:
This schedule has been developed to minimally impact dismissal at our schools but leaves enough of a window to allow for you to conveniently return. I hope you understand that we cannot distribute kits at dismissal time.
We will continue this distribution all week or until we exhaust our supply. Should we run out, I will post an additional message at that time. As mentioned, these kits are for your personal use and cannot be used for re-entry to school should your child test positive. I think the Governor’s intent was to give you a resource to utilize if your child shows any COVID-19 symptoms to help guide your future actions.
If more test kits become available (and I have been told that they might), another communication like this will be forthcoming.
There are some positive indications that we are emerging from this health crisis. Spring is a few weeks away and I am hopeful that we will see a return to the familiar patterns and practices that we associate with the North Shore Schools. I know that we ALL hope for that very soon!
