Please join us as the North Shore Middle School Masquers take the stage to perform in the popular musical Footloose: Youth Edition. Tickets are available online at NS Masquers Tickets Click Here There will be three live performances on Friday, February 4 (7 pm) and Saturday, February 5 (2 pm and 7 pm) in the HS Theatre.

Footloose is the story of Ren McCormack, a city boy from Chicago, who moves to the small town of Bomont, Texas, with his mother after his father abandons them. Upon arriving, Ren finds himself at odds with most of the town, including Reverend Shaw – the voice of Bomont. The Reverend has convinced the town to outlaw dancing, which Ren finds unbelievable. With the help of Ariel, the Reverend’s daughter, and Willard, a country bumpkin who becomes his best friend, Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance. Through explosive choreography and invigorating songs such as ‘Holding Out for a Hero’, ‘Let’s Hear it for the Boy’, and the exhilarating title track, Ren challenges the community to reverse the rule that kept their hearts from dancing. In the process, he just may help the town heal from a tragedy that affected them.

This musical is directed by Damien Chillemi with the assistance of Brain Messemer, Vocal Director, Simone Kuranishi, Choreographer, Diane Vestuto, Chakira Doherty, Costume Design and Instruction, Caitlin Mallon, Set Design and Props. Stage adaption was by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. It is based on the Original Screenplay by Dean Pitchford.
