Dear North Shore Families,
We are happy to announce that the North Shore CSD will be holding a lottery for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) for classes that will run from 2/1/23 to 6/23/23 (5 months - spring semester). This program is funded purely from the New York State UPK Expansion Grant Program which provided these funds to the North Shore CSD for this first time this year.
If you are a resident of the North Shore Central School District and your child has turned 4 years of age before 12/1/22 (with a birth date between 12/2/17 to 12/1/18) and would like your child to participate in this program, please complete the UPK Registration Form found HERE by Monday, 12/19 at 5:00 p.m. Please note, this registration is only for this upcoming spring. Information on a possible UPK program for next school year will be determined by the availability of UPK Expansion Grant funding for next school year. The District will communicate that information once it is received.
The program will take place in two locations. SCOPE Educational Services will administer a Pre-K program in the North Shore Schools. Also, the Glen Cove YMCA Pre-K Center will administer a Pre-K program.
All potential parents/guardians of students will need to complete a formal registration during the first two weeks of January, with the North Shore CSD if chosen in the lottery which will take place on Wednesday, 12/21 at 4:00 PM and will be live-streamed. The lottery will determine enrollment availability and location preference. There will be up to 72 available seats.
Please contact Dr. Chris Zublionis, Superintendent of Schools at zublionisc@northshoreschools.org, if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
The North Shore CSD
