Building Bridges
At North Shore Middle School, students in Innovation 8 class under the direction of Mr. Keith Slack are learning about Engineering & Structures.
Mr. Slack said, “My students are designing and building model bridges after they learn about modern day bridge design and the forces that affect them such as compression and tension. By using triangles, the strongest geometrical shape, my students design and build a bridge to compete in a weight to strength challenge. Whichever bridge has the greatest weight to strength ratio will be the winner.”
Best of luck to all of Mr. Slack’s students!
