A VISIT TO A LA CARTE COOKING SCHOOL
8th Graders Learn How to Prepare French Food at A La Carte Cooking School
Students in Mr. Lepetit and Ms. Pommateau's 8th grade French classes recently travelled to A La Carte cooking school in Lynbrook to learn to prepare some of the dishes they have become familiar with in the cultural component of their lessons.
Working under A La Carte's chefs, the students prepared salade nicoise, quiche, crepes, and cream puffs, while also learning about cooking techniques and knife safety. At the end of class, the students had the opportunity to try out the dishes they had prepared. Mr. Lepetit stated, βAll in all, it was an enjoyable - and delicious - outing.β
