May 1 National College Decision Day
North Shore Seniors Are College-Bound
May 1st is National College Decision Day, the deadline for high school seniors across the United States to pick where they will be attending college (or university) in the Fall of 2018. Like many seniors nationwide, our North Shore Class of 2018 faced one of their biggest decisions today of their young lives. As with most important decisions, there are many pros and cons. When choosing a college, some include size, location, courses and programs, extracurricular activities, and tuition.
While the options may all be exciting, it is sometimes difficult to choose which one is right for you. For some teens, this decision can be both exhilarating and difficult. Some things that can be done to make it easier are speaking to your parents, family members, friends, alumni of the school(s), college students, or your teachers and guidance counselors. Additionally, if possible, visit the school(s) that you would like to attend. Remember, nothing is always perfect, but you can do it!
Some colleges our North Shore seniors will be attending include Cornell, Dartmouth, Northwestern, Brown, University of California Berkeley, University of Virginia, University Miami, Syracuse University, University of Iowa, University of Texas at Austin, University of South Carolina, Michigan, Fordham, Mercy, Penn State, Hofstra, Cortland, St. John’s, Sacred Heart, Fairfield, University of Vermont, Wesleyan – just to name a few!*
Best of luck Class of 2018 in college and all of your future endeavors!
