NORTH SHORE HS ORIENTATION 2020-21
Incoming 9th Graders Welcomed
at NS High School
On Thursday, September 2, 2020, new Principal Mr. Eric Contreras along with the high school administration team including Assistant Principals Ms. Jennifer Imperiale and Dr. Kevin Kurrus warmly welcomed the Freshman Class of 2020-21 and their parents and guardians to North Shore High School.
Before entering the building, COVID-19 guidelines were being followed as temperature checks were immediately taken, all those in attendance visibly wore masks, social distancing was encouraged, and hand sanitizer was readily available. To begin orientation, administrators along with the Director of Counseling, Mr. Daniel Doherty happily greeted over 188 incoming freshman. Then the Peer Educators Club (Peer Leaders) led small group tours all day of the building and classrooms, discussed schedules, held fun break-the-ice games, and answered any questions or concerns to help make their transition to high school easier. Additionally, students were also joined by their guidance counselors who answered any scheduling questions and assisted with the tours and new protocols.
It was wonderful to see students once again in our schools, as the incoming freshman class was eager to reunite with their friends from the middle school. Additionally, parents and guardians were able to meet new Principal Eric Contreras in the high school auditorium and listen to an introductory presentation about North Shore High School.
Many thanks to the HS PTO, administration, and Peer Leaders for all of their assistance during the orientation. Best of luck to the graduating Class of 2024 during your high school years!
