“Send A Message” Contest Winners at North Shore High School Are…
North Shore-CASA is proud to announce the winners of the “Send A Message” contest in partnership with North Shore High School for Red Ribbon Week. Students were asked to “Send a Message” regarding the dangers of substance abuse, seek to create awareness of substance use disorders and/or show the importance of prevention & social change.
Students were told to Get Creative! Submissions could be anything including essays, poems, music, photography, artwork or videos! Submissions were voted on by the 8 CASA Board Members and 12 Sector Partners, representing all areas of the community.
Congratulations go out to the following North Shore High School students who won for their Red Ribbon Contest submissions as well as to all of the students who entered the contest. The 2019 winners included:
- $250 First place – Painting – “Hello My Name is” - Finley Livingston
- $150 Second Place: Poem “Penny in My Pocket” – John Drew
- $100 Third Place: Multi-Media Campaign - Heather Lennon and Rachel Hunt
- Honorable Mention: Untitled Poem– Sarah Barnett
Alison Camardella, North Shore CASA Co-President, stated “Our judges were blown away by the messages conveyed in our students’ work and were touched by their candid handling of the topic. We hope that you will be sure to share in our congratulations of the students.” She added, “Many thanks to Jen Imperiale, Assistant Principal and Reisa Berg, Social Worker of North Shore High School for helping to facilitate this contest with the students!”
