HS Senior Places 2ND in Theodore Roosevelt Association
Public Speaking Contest
Congratulations to North Shore High School senior Olivia Schatz for winning second place in the Theodore Roosevelt Association Public Speaking Contest. In the final round, Olivia competed against 14 other students from across Long Island. This was Olivia's fourth year participating in the contest, and her third time making it to the finals.
Olivia crafted a beautiful, original, five minute speech about the impact of Theodore Roosevelt on both our world and her life over the past four years participating in the contest. Her memorized speech was delivered at Christ Church in Oyster Bay to a panel of judges and an audience of participants, coaches and family members.
As second place winner, Olivia was awarded $1000, along with a commemorative medal for making it to the finals. Olivia is pictured in the photo with the 3rd and 1st place winners and with the panel of judges.
