GLENWOOD LANDING KINDERGARTENERS CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING
GWL Kindergarten Thanksgiving Culmination
Kindergarteners at Glenwood Landing Elementary gathered to celebrate the culmination of their harvest study. The students were dressed appropriately for the celebration and gathered in the library on November 26 to make crafts, sing songs, hear a story, and participate in classroom activities for the Thanksgiving festivities!
Their outfits beautifully reflected the dress of the Native American period during the Thanksgiving celebration. In Kindergarten classes and the library, students participated in the following eight different Thanksgiving workshops filled with crafts and related activities including:
- Dream Catchers
- Cornucopia
- Clay Turkeys
- Traditional Turkey Dinner
- Regalia (Native American Clothing)
- Drums
- Maize
- Sewing
In addition, North Shore Middle School students involved in 3veryone Cares Day visited each elementary school. At Glenwood Landing, the older students helped with the workshops and assisted their younger peers.
Many thanks to the teachers, parents, and family members for helping to make this day memorable and educational for all those who participated in the Kindergarten Harvest/Thanksgiving culmination!
