NS Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Ices with the MS Principals
On August 27, 2018, North Shore Middle Schoolers got a special treat as Principal Rob Dennis kicked off the new school year by having Italian Ices with the incoming seventh and eighth graders with the help of new Assistant Principal Brendan Nelson. Many thanks to the North Shore Middle School PTSO who sponsored this sweet event.
It was a warm day as 7th and 8th grade students had the chance to cool off with delicious ices and share their summer vacation stories with Principal Dennis. Additionally, they had the opportunity to meet their new Assistant Principal, Mr. Nelson, who served as an advisor at the Great Neck School District prior to arriving at the North Shore Schools. He formerly taught at Sewanhaka and Rye Neck High Schools and served as an advisor at Great Neck North and Rye Neck middle schools. “I am committed to focusing on the wholesome child, not just the student,” Nelson said. “Supporting their emotional well-being during their teenage years is extremely important to me.” He added, “Kids don’t have to do something monumental, or change the world to make a difference,” Nelson said. “I want them to know that being friendly and inclusive is just as powerful.”
During the day, parents and students were also able to pick up their books and supplies and ask their principals any important questions prior to opening day on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
Best of luck to Assistant Principal Brendan Nelson and everyone at North Shore Middle School in 2018-19!
