NORTH SHORE ITALIAN EXCHANGE TRIP
Italy! An Exchange Trip of a Lifetime
After many years of patiently waiting, 25 students got their chance to participate in the North Shore Italian Exchange trip to Italy! During their two week stay, the students traveled to Arezzo, a scenic town in Tuscany where they lived with their exchange partners and then ended their trip in the eternal city of Rome.
During this unforgettable experience the group attended classes at the school in Arezzo, explored renaissance and gothic art in Florence and Pisa; traveled through historical medieval towns of Anghiari and Perugia; learned how to make pasta by a trained chef; and ate amazing amounts of chocolate at the Perugina factory!
The students were treated like family by their exchange partners and exposed to the best of the region. Their last three days were spent in Rome where they had the opportunity to witness its magnificence and ancient history. The North Shore exchange students saw the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, The Spanish Steps, The Pantheon, and the Vatican City. They also took a tour of the Vatican Museum and climbed the steps to the top of St. Peter’s Basilica to see the view of Rome (from above)!
On April 10th - 23nd, the students from Arezzo will be visiting North Shore for the second half of the exchange trip. This unique experience gives students from both continents the opportunity to learn more about culture, language, and create friendships across the world. A special “Thank You” to all of the families, students, and teachers involved in making this year’s exchange so memorable!
