“Anything is possible,” Sings Antigone Rising
Antigone Rising Performs at Sea Cliff School Bringing Positive and Powerful Messages to Students
In February 2018, the students and faculty of Sea Cliff School got a special treat when the popular band Antigone Rising performed in the school library. The renowned rock band for “girls around the world” reiterated their positive lyric, “Anything is possible” to the delight of all those in the audience.
Antigone Rising bassist Kristen Henderson said in a Northwordnews article, “We deliver a positive message but wrapped in it is music, which is a unifier for the kids and allows them to let go and have a good time.”
Many of the young Sea Cliff elementary school students were familiar with Antigone Rising from their performance at BeachFest in Sea Cliff. The work of the band’s non-profit, “Girls Rising,” has been widely publicized in its effort to empower girls to pursue non-traditional careers. As female musicians, they use their music and experiences to motivate girls nationally and around the world. In addition, members of band have gone to many schools, Girl Scout troops, and other youth organizations to further encourage girls and women of all ages to have the confidence to break boundaries.
Many thanks to Anigone Rising for performing at Sea Cliff School and engaging the students in a fun question and answer session! You continue to empower all of us with your positive lyrics and songs.
