Thanksgiving Basket Drive at NS High School Biggest One Ever!

“As many of you know, this year’s food basket drive was our biggest success ever,” said Ms. Christine Halloran at North Shore High School. “The generosity of the school community was amazing.” The Interact Club, under the leadership of Jessica Leonard and Sofia Martini, organized the food drive at Holiday Farms, which brought in an overwhelming amount of food.

There was also participation from the faculty (3 baskets), Ms. Acosta’s classes (3 baskets), the Life Skills program (2 baskets), Ms. Chen’s classes (2 baskets), the secretaries (2 baskets), and the Tri-M group. Ms. Halloran continued, “Overall, we were able to provide complete meal basket/bags to 81 local families (47 of which included donated grocery store gift cards).”

In addition, excess food was donated to NOSH via the Key Club and St. Boniface Food Pantry, further helping the community. Thank you to Ms. McAree for arranging the food donations for St. Boniface. Many thanks to the Varsity football players and custodians who helped carry all the baskets and bags out to the cars for delivery. It was truly a community effort!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the annual basket drive for your generous donations! Happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
