Pursuant to Executive Order 202.26 by Governor Cuomo
Because of the pandemic, the vote will take place remotely only by absentee ballot provided by the North Shore School District to all qualified voters. There will be no voting at the polls.
Qualified voters will vote on the following two propositions:

2020-21 SCHOOL BUDGET: $110,315, 209
Represents a 2.33% budget-to-budget increase and is under the tax cap. 


Voter approval for the North Shore Board of Education to utilize from the Capital Reserve Fund established on May 17, 2016, an amount not to exceed $3,000,000, for school building improvement projects beginning in the 2020-21 school year including:
•  Renovation of the nurse’s office at Glen Head Elementary School
•  Renovations of the locker rooms at North Shore Middle School
Residents may obtain a copy of the budget, updates, and links to BOE meetings on the school website at www.northshoreschools.org.

The Election will take place remotely and qualified voters will vote only by absentee ballot that will be provided by the school district. The Budget Hearing will be held via Google Meet on May 28, 2020 at 7:45 PM.

Absentee ballots will be sent by the North Shore School District to qualified voters. Every qualified voter is entitled to be sent an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope.  

  • Due to the health and safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, voter
registration will not take place for the June 9, 2020 election. Individuals can register on the
Department of Motor Vehicles website prior to May 26, 2020 at
• Education law defines a “qualified voter” as being at least eighteen (18) years of age, a United
States citizen, a resident of the school district for thirty (30) days, and does not claim the right
to vote elsewhere. Residents who have previously registered for any District annual or special
election, have voted in the past four years (2016-19), and/or are registered to  vote in general
elections within the District do not need to register and will automatically receive an absentee
ballot. If you are unsure whether you are a qualified voter and/or will receive an
absentee ballot, contact the District Clerk at ciampib@northshoreschools.org.

The school district must receive absentee ballots, by mail, no later than 5 PM on June 9, 2020 in order to be canvased.
