SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION

Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan Recognizes the North Shore Board of Education

This year, School Board Recognition Week, October 22-26, 2018, is being observed by over 700 school districts across the Empire State to commend school board members for their service and dedication to New York public school children.

On October 11th, Joshua Lafazan, the Legislator for the 18th District of the Nassau County Legislature, attended the North Shore Schools board meeting and highly praised Superintendent Dr. Peter Giarrizzo and all seven trustees of the North Shore School District Board of Education including Board President Sara Jones, Vice President Dave Ludmar, Trustee Joanna Commander, Trustee Richard Galati, Trustee Tim Madden, Trustee Marianne M. Russo, and Trustee Lisa Vizza.

Legislator Lafazan reminded all those in attendance how local school board members are strong advocates for public education. As volunteers, they devote numerous hours and work tirelessly to advance the educational needs of each community they serve to help ensure the solid foundation of our school system. In doing so, these leaders help strengthen our state’s educational system by working closely with school administrators, parents, and other community members to improve the future prospects for our children.

To a round of applause, Legislator Joshua Lafazan recognized each North Shore School District Trustee with a School Board Recognition Certificate. In addition, there will be a Board of Education Trustee Appreciation Presentation by the Coordinating Council of Parent Associations on October 25th, 2018.  Please help congratulate our Board of Education this week (and every week) for their dedication to our students, faculty, staff, and community members of the North Shore School District.
