North Shore High Adopts A Family for the Holidays!
This year at least 70 students and many faculty and staff participated in the Adopt-a-Family program at North Shore High School under the direction of Community Service Coordinator, Christine Halloran. The program provides participants with a profile of a family in need, and the volunteers shop to fulfill their wish list, and then wrap the gifts for delivery.
12 local families were recipients of the generous gift bags this year. Groups that adopted families included the Cross Country Team, the Life Skills program, Anime Club, Tri-M Honor Society, Interact, and several classes and individuals. Participants in the project felt joy in making the holiday season even more festive for the families. Many commented, “It made us feel the true meaning of the season.”
